Riddhi Karambelkar

Manufacturing Engineering Manager

Tell me what your role involves?

Ensuring our production line operators can assemble and build seats every minute. This includes focus on the design of work flow, operating procedures and manufacturing systems to produce an economical and high-quality product.

What is a typical day like?

Fortunately, there is no typical day. Every day is unique and presents a new set of challenges. I spend most time on the shop floor where all the magic happens. Using continuous improvement methods to enhance manufacturing quality, reliability or cost-effectiveness. I am involved in determining best operational methods along with providing technical guidance and support to manufacturing.

What attracted you to Acro?

I have always had an interest in the aerospace industry. The people I spoke to were extremely helpful and positive. I found the environment enthusiastic and the energy infectious.

What do you enjoy about working at Acro?

The team is approachable, open to new ideas and recognizes hard work and acknowledges the same.

What did you do before you came here?

I’ve had diverse manufacturing experience to date working at various international locations while working at Fellfab, Volkswagen Group and Brompton Bicycles.

Tell me something interesting about yourself

I am a polyglot and can speak up to 6 different languages with different levels of fluency. I have lived in many countries, covering the far east (Tokyo) to the west (USA). This has given me great respect for other cultures and I’ve come to truly admire the different ways of life.
